- What’s your cancellation policy?
Guests may cancel and get a refund up to 90 days prior to arrival, less a non-refundable 8% administrative fee. Within 90 days, a refund is subject to re-booking the property. If the villa is re-booked at the same rate, the 8% administrative fee will be deducted from the refund. If it is re-booked for less than the published rate, the difference will be subtracted from your refund in addition to the 8% administrative fee.
In the event of a force majeure such as a fire, earthquake, hurricane, flood or other circumstances outside the control of a party causing damage to the property preventing the guest from obtaining normal use of the villa, all payments will be refunded to the guest. In the event of a force majeure causing the guest to be vacated from the villa, the unused portion of the vacation on a pro-rata basis will be refunded to the guest. In the event of an official hurricane warning in force for Turks and Caicos within 48 hours of the guest’s scheduled arrival, we’ll waive the cancellation penalty and change the reservation to a future date.
- What do you require for a deposit?
25%, with the balance due 60 days before your trip.
- How far is Sunset Point Oceanfront Villa from the airport?
About a 15 minute drive.
- Where do we fly into and what is the airport code?
Providenciales International Airport. The airport code is PLS.
- How will we get from the airport to the villa?
One of our villa reps will meet you either at the airport or the rental car agency. From there, they will escort you to the villa and give you a full villa orientation once you arrive. If you are not renting a car, taxis are available at the airport. The fare will be around $20/person.
- Do we need to rent a car while we’re there?
We highly recommend you do. Almost all guests who stay in vacation villas on the island rent a car.
- If we have any questions during our stay, who do we contact?
Our property management company on Providenciales is Island Escapes. They will be there to answer any questions you have or respond to any problems.
- The villa looks like two houses. Will we be sharing the property with anyone?
No, you’ll have the entire place to yourselves. Sunset Point looks like two houses, but it’s actually all one villa connected by covered decks.
- Is there a beach on the property?
No, but the ocean in back of the villa is shallow with a sandy bottom, and generally calm. It’s just a few steps down from the dock before you’re standing in that beautiful turquoise water!
- How close is the beach?
Taylor Bay Beach is just a three minute walk away.
- Is Taylor Bay Beach child-safe?
Yes, it’s calm and shallow, with a white sand bottom, for hundreds of feet.
- Are bugs a problem?
Like all Caribbean destinations, mosquitoes and no-see-ums can be a nuisance, especially around sunrise and sunset, and after storms or rains. Ocean breezes help deter them, but the best deterent is bug spray or lotion. Those with DEET seem to be the most effective.
- Can we hire a cook for a meal or for the day?
Yes, we can supply you with a list a cooks, chefs, and catering services available to meet almost any budget.
- Is the water safe to drink?
Water is a combination of trucked in water and cachement, which is stored in a large cistern. Many guests opt to buy drinking water and ice from the store during their stay.
- Should we buy trip insurance?
Because unexpected travel interruptions may occur due to medical emergencies, illness, weather, flight delays/cancellations, or any other unforeseen circumstances that are NOT subject to refund, TRIP INSURANCE THAT COVERS YOUR RESERVATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
- Do you sell trip insurance?
No, however you can choose from a number of different travel insurance plans on sites such as www.insuremytrip.com. Please make sure that you choose one that covers the cost of the villa rental in the event you must cancel your trip.
- Do you have snorkeling equipment at the villa?
There MAY be some snorkeling equipment there, but it’s not something that we keep stocked. We suggest bringing you own mask and snorkel. Another option is to buy or rent snorkel equipment while you’re on the island.
- What if we want to rent kayaks or paddle boards while we’re there?
There are a few companies that rent kayaks and paddle boards, and will deliver them to the villa. One is Big Blue Unlimited. You can also rent kayaks by the hour at Las Brisas restaurant on Chalk Sound, about a half mile away.
